Content is King – Writing Effective Web Contents
29 September 2005

The Hong Kong UPA Chapter welcomes Hong Kong-based writer and marketing consultant Kay Ross.

In most website development projects, companies devote lots of time, expertise and resources to the fancy technology, and the content is usually not seen as a priority. But who creates and manages the content? It is, after all, the reason that visitors visit the site. How do you write compelling, user-friendly content that gets results? And how is writing for websites different from writing for hard-copy documents?

Kay will share tips and case studies about:

* The importance of web content
* Defining the purpose of your site, in line with your marketing/branding goals
* The basic principles of effective marketing and good writing
* Focusing on your users’ wants and needs
* Usability – How to usability-test your content
* Usability tips for writing content your users will read

Benefits:
* You’ll understand the importance of quality content
* You’ll learn how to write compelling, user-friendly content
* You’ll make your website a more effective marketing/branding tool
* You’ll understand how to use content as a retention tool

Takeaways:
* Summary of Kay’s presentation
* Booklists about marketing and writing
