Senior User Researcher (Ref : HTSA/UCD/0801/UPAHK)
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct and evaluate user research efforts such as ethnographic research, field observation and competitive analysis to determine users' needs, define projects' contexts and guide design solutions
- Coordinate and facilitate usability tests and work with User Interface Designers to develop test materials
- Evaluate and translate research findings into design artefacts such as user personas and concept models, and provide actionable insights and design recommendations
- Provide input into business strategy based on user research and drive the adoption of best practices across our business units
- Partner with User Interface Designers and Web Production Engineers to communicate research and design results to the business and other clients
- Facilitate group collaboration and consensus building within the team
- Act as user research lead and manage the lifecycle of complex projects
- Provide research direction and oversee User Researchers assigned to projects
Requirements
- Master's degree in human-computer interaction, cognitive science, human factors, usability engineering, anthropology, library science, or related field preferred; Bachelor's degree holders or equivalent experience will also be considered
- At least five years' experience applying user research methods in high-traffic, dynamic, interactive products or services, with a focus on e-commerce environment
- Expert knowledge of usability engineering and user research methodologies
- Proven interviewing, observation, and laboratory testing skills
- Strong project management skills, with a willingness and flexibility to travel
- Able to work with people of different cultures, ideally possess knowledge of cross-cultural and multilingual design
- Portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of, and passion for user research and user centered design is a must
- Proficient in written and spoken English; fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage
